A dialogue session for women within the “Civilian Women Leaders” initiative

Zameen Organization for Development and Peacebuilding held, on Wednesday 02/22/2023, a dialogue session entitled “The Importance of Women in Senior Positions in Civil Society Organizations”, in its main center in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, as part of the “Civilian Women Leaders” project in partnership with the Ashti Organization .

The activity was attended by 13 participants from women working in civil assemblies in the Jazira region from various components and those with intermediate non-leadership positions within these assemblies, in addition to 3 women leaders to transfer their experiences and benefit from those experiences.

The session aimed to raise the awareness of the participants and inform them of the need to activate their roles in order to assume leadership positions within the civil assemblies, theories of change at the individual and methodological level to reach leadership positions, in addition to the challenges they face and how to overcome them in order to reach administrative and leadership positions within the civic communities.

The activity concluded with a set of recommendations and proposals that would enhance the role of women and their presence in positions, and intensify such sessions.
