Zameen Organization for Development and Peacebuilding held, on Saturday 02/25/2023, a dialogue session entitled “The Role of Media and Social Media Platforms in Promoting Community Cohesion,” at the organization’s main center in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.
He attended the activity that came within the project “Enhancing Civil Cohesion and Accountability (ECCA)”; 15 participants, media professionals, journalists, representatives of media institutions, civil activists, academics and intellectuals, of both sexes and from different components.
The activity reviewed the reality of the local media in the Al Jazeera region, the challenges and obstacles facing it, and the role that the local media plays in the field of community cohesion, in addition to developing a set of recommendations and proposals that would enhance the effectiveness of the media in the field of promoting community cohesion in the region.
This session is a continuation of a group of previous sessions that were implemented over two years within the “ECCA” project, which aims to enhance community cohesion and accountability.
